Demonstrations

Art demonstrations are an opportunity to view art "in the making." Artists often work in solitary situations so taking a moment to share their craft is considered a win-win situation. Many of the buildings lining Main St serve double duty as both a gallery and studio. It is here you can see master artisans working on their chosen craft. In the case of the Helper Arts Festival, we are fortunate to have nationally known artists available to mentor and share their craft with emerging artists as well as the general public. Often, Helper Workshop will host an educational event during the Festival open to the general public–check it out and see how paintings are composed and the eye and effort associated with it. Other artists may have open demonstrations in their artist booths–many actually work during the Festival to replace sold product. In this case you may see drawing, jewelry making, pottery and more happening in real time. It is an opportunity for the public to view the creation process, learn a bit about it and to be excited by the quality and craftsmanship you can see!
